- Get Meat
- Make ready 2 kg Quality Shoulder of Lamb
- Get Seasoning And Gravy
- Make ready 1 stick Thyme
- Prepare 1 stick Rosemary
- Make ready 1 medium Red Onion
- Take 1 clove Garlic
- Take 5 stick Carrots
- Make ready 1 stock Knor Lamb Stockpot
- Make ready 150 ml Quality Woody Red Wine
- Get Thickening of Gravy
- Get 2 tbsp Corn Flour
Drain and allow to steam dry, then smash them up in the pan with a knob of butter. If you prefer a smooth texture, add some cooking water. Brown the shoulder of lamb, fat side down, in a frypan for a few minutes to release some of the extra fat. Season with salt and pepper and remove it to the slow cooker on top of the carrots.
Steps to make Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder:
- Insert lamb into the slow cooker
- Add the stockpot to 500ml of hot water and stir in
- Chop carrots finely and add to the lamb
- Add both sprigs of Thyme and Rosemary
- Chop garlic clove finely and add to the pot
- Chop the red onion finely and add in
- Add the stockpot and red wine and set the slow cooker to high
- Cook for 6hrs or until done
- Once cooked, remove the lamb and mash the left over contents of the seasonings and veg until fine, add some pinches of corn flour until the gravy has thickened and serve over the lamb
Brown the shoulder of lamb, fat side down, in a frypan for a few minutes to release some of the extra fat. Season with salt and pepper and remove it to the slow cooker on top of the carrots. Saute the chopped onions (same frypan ok) till translucent and add to the slow cooker. When the lamb is cooked, remove from the oven, remove the foil, and you will find the large bone simply pulls away clean. Now, use two forks to separate the meat from the smaller bones, and pile the meat onto a plate - being careful to remove any small bones.
